INTRODUCTION
Many books have been written on Freemasonry, especially in the last three centuries. In most cases, these are books written by Masons in order to give a prestigious and successful organization. Many other books have been written by Catholics and others, for times less than the emergence of Masonic associations.
This book can not be placed in either the first or second category, since it is neither pro-nor anti-Freemasonry Freemasonry. It seemed simplistic and partial from a condition or oppositional propaganda. Our aim was to bring to light what appears to be the Freemasons from the standpoint of historical and social. L’opinione comune vede questo tema come “esotico”, “bizzarro” e non rilevante al fine di comprendere la realtà in cui si vive.
La stessa ricerca dei materiali è problematica: non è possibile accedere direttamente agli archivi se non si è “accademici accreditati”, e dunque dall’ambiente massonico e dai suoi archivi vengono esclusi tutti coloro che non sono adepti o che non hanno alcun incarico accademico rilevante.
Considerando la letteratura sulla massoneria, quello che salta all’occhio è che, anche le pubblicazioni più precise, dettagliate e complete, glissano su alcuni argomenti, o non li trattano in modo così chiaro e completo come trattano altri aspetti. Ad esempio, uno degli argomenti poco toccati e chiariti è quello dei vertici massonici, ovvero del controllo delle logge massoniche da parte di chi ha creato la massoneria e la diffonde. Un altro argomento è quello del culto luciferino, testimoniato da non pochi massoni o ex massoni, e documentabile attraverso varie simbologie, riti e comportamenti massonici.
Un problema che emerge nello studio della massoneria riguarda una sorta di “schizofrenia”. Alcuni autori parlano di “pregiudizio” ancora presente fino agli anni Venti dello scorso secolo, che induceva a vedere la massoneria come fomentatrice di rivoluzioni. Altri sostengono che tale presunto “pregiudizio” deriverebbe dal fatto che il cattolicesimo avversava la massoneria e aveva interesse a screditarla o a metterla in cattiva luce. Si vuol far credere che non ci siano fatti concreti che inducano a ritenere che la massoneria abbia esercitato un potere iniquo.
Ma dai fatti emersi, si comprende che di pregiudizio non si tratta, e che parlare di “pregiudizio”, così come anche parlare di “massoneria deviata”, serve a convincere della buona fede della massoneria.
Un’altra cosa che salta all’occhio quando si studiano testi scritti da massoni è che in quasi tutti questi libri c’è una parte (spesso posta alla fine del libro) in cui si dà una chiara stoccata a chi solleva il fatto che le reti massoniche abbiano avuto ruoli storici spesso di tipo criminoso. Questi esempi fanno pensare alla massoneria come ad un’organizzazione che ha avuto esempi di estremismo, per favorire la presa del potere da parte di un preciso gruppo. Questo risulta assai riduttivo, dato che le reti massoniche sono a servizio del potere, ovvero sono costituite da persone che hanno fatto giuramento di segretezza e di obbedienza, e dunque operano a favore dei vertici a cui si sono sottomessi. Tali vertici sono costituiti dalle grandi famiglie di potere, che oggi posseggono il controllo finanziario, mediatico, culturale e politico. Dunque, non si tratta di poche logge “deviate” e nemmeno di un gruppo esclusivamente ebraico, ma di gruppi eterogenei che utilizzano reti massoniche per diversi scopi.
Pochi sanno che in seno alla massoneria circolarono, prima di realizzarsi, progetti come l’Unità d’Italia e l’Unione Europea.
Diversi massoni si lamentano del fatto che alcune persone avrebbero “pregiudizi” nei loro confronti o che altri addirittura vogliano disinformare sulla massoneria. Questo libro prova che i migliori mistificatori del fenomeno sono gli stessi massoni, precisamente quelli che conoscono la verità sulle reti massoniche e hanno interesse a nascondere aspetti della massoneria che non sono lusinghieri. Come disse Giancarlo Caselli, “Ci sono cose che non soltanto stiamo dimenticando, ci sono soprattutto cose che si vuole che siano dimenticate, e si vuole che non siano neanche conosciute” (7).
Il primo capitolo mette in evidenza le caratteristiche e le funzioni della massoneria nei diversi periodi historians.
